SEO stands for Search Engine Optimisation. Which means getting your stuff higher up the search results when someone types a topic into a search engine on what you write about.

How to do that? There are thousands and thousands of sites about that. There are tools that tell you what people type in to search engines. If you write using those words then your stuff will appear.

Another part is links. Your site goes higher up the list of items in the search engine depending on how much you link. Firstly to other sites outside your own. Also to links to your own articles. (The search engines have various ways of sorting out people who just put a million links on anything to get their site higher up the lists).

Then there is providing writing as a way of getting people to come to your blog. This means writing related content and submitting it to article sites (the signature allows a link to your blog). You can submit your posts to blog carnivals too (round ups of what the person running the carnival thinks are the top posts on a particular topic) .

There are products to help you do these things too (if you have the money).

If you can get a very popular blogger to link to you this will do a lot for your rankings. Yaro was lucky to get a link from Darren Rowse for example.
