Dear Yaro –
You asked for feedback from your new students so here is mine. My blog is [url=http://www.personal-growth-with-corinne-edwards.com] I have been concentrating on “content” since I was introduced to you. I’d appreciate it if you would have time to take a look at it and give me some feedback. The technical part is iffy for me but I know it is important so here are my issues. Please answer in two syllable words. Be kind to your new students who can write but know very little about techie stuff. I’d like to launch my new blog but it is missing some important stuff and I need to find out how to do the following: 1. How do I get a RSS feed on my site? Do I need this to list my blog on the top sites or is it a waste of time at this point? 2. How do I get the calendar off my page on wordpress? Most people know what day it is and it takes a lot of room. 3. I mention other people in my copy. How do I include their blogs or websites in the articles? 4. How do I get people who comment to give me their names and email addresses for follow up? 5. How can I assemble this list so it is available to me for the future? 6. I got an amazon associates account since I am doing some book reviews on my blog. I don’t know how to put an Amazon link on the blog. I would appreciate your including some of these concerns in your lessons. Thanks! Warmly, Corinne Edwards Last edited by Corinne : 26th June 2007 at 07:10 PM. |

Hi Corinne
great to see you diving into this. Its also good that you want to learn how to do all these things. One thing that Yaro recommends though, is being a general of the army, not a soldier in the trenches. Honestly, no one person knows how to be a tech guru and a kick butt blogger so please focus on your strengths. I'll be honest. Yaro had quite a big team get this project off the ground. He didn't do it all by himself. So, the first thing is decide what your skill set is, that will generate the most income for you. then OUTSOURCE the rest. Its simple - go to a place like rentacoder and post a project. You;ll be surprised how cheap you can get things done - tip.... stay in touch with your coder and make him/her your virtual staff member. having said this Yaro will prob reply telling you how, but I would recommend you don't fall into this trap and start leveraging from the start. Good luck Corinne. I'm going to check out your blog now! |
