I have this idea: why not combine similar blogs to a new bigger one?

I would like to write about internet business similar to Yaro. About implementing new businesses, how to become profitable etc. However, I will probably never be able to spend so much time as Yaro does (lazy as I am ). So I guess I would post just about 1 or 2 posts per week.

Now, I guess there're a lot of like-minded blogger in a similar situation. My question: why not found a new blog together, where each member posts 1-2 times a week? Each member would have the possibility to promote his business and write about what he wants as long as it is related to the overall subject.

I would provide server and wordpress account and would do the core administration.

Do you think that's feasible? Would you be interested in joining such blog?

Hi elloco,

I see exactly where you coming from - Yaro somehow makes time and I'm not sure how he does it, especially for huge articles like his latest timeline!

I'd be interested in joining sides and contributing - provided that the site is marketed well and search engine optimised

I'm sure Yaro might provide his SEO advice if the site was to go ahead.

James

Hi guys - good idea, I think there are some examples out there of blogs doing the multiple contributor thing quite successfully. The most important thing would be quality control - articles must be of a consistent quality and all the authors must be able to write to a reasonable standard.

It would be a shame if say 4 great writers were loosing their audience because one not-so-good writer was scaring all the visitors away.

I think it could be smart to perhaps search around for little blogs out there that already have demonstrated quality and at least 1-2 articles per week and see if they are interested in combining their efforts into an uber-blog.

Good intentions are just that, until you put something into action you can't know how consistent or how good a writer someone is.
