Inspired by Burts blog I'm going to blog about my experiences of setting up my own AIS sites, the first of which is Missing-Auctions.com.

I've registered a domain and have installed the latest version of Wordpress (my host, Dreamhost.com offer a one-click install) but what are the essential plug-ins that you would recommend I use ?

Incidentally Missing-Auctions.com is doing pretty well - after a couple of weeks of just 10-20 uniques per day, the latest two days have seen around 300 uniques as the SEO kicks in

Earnings are slowly picking up too . . . .

Hi, Pidea. I use WordPress 1.5.2. (I simply haven't upgraded yet.)

I use the Related plugin, by Anne van Kesteren and Mark Ghosh, but I had to fix several bugs in it. The newer versionmay have these bugs already fixed. I don't know.

I also use WP-Cron with WP-Cron Future Pings enabled.

And I use WP-iPodCatter, which I customized for my podcast.

I'm also planning to install the LandingSites plug-in, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

I'd be very interested in an Amazon impulse-buying rack plug-in. Let's say I write about a particular book or movie, knowing that readers probably like that book or movie. I want to use Amazon's E-Commerce Service to find products "similar to" that book or movie. It's the "people who bought this also bought that" interface. Then I want to construct an impulse-buying rack that displays the top 5 or 10 similar items. Does anyone know of something like that? I'll probably have to write it myself, but it's just not a top priority.

Thanks for those - I'll take a look later this afternoon. So far my blog is coming along nicely but it'll be a few days before I reveal the URL to the world !

====================
haven't upgraded yet... hmm
wonder if my using WP2 is why some plugins seem to conflict with either the theme I'm using or the standard WP php script... I've had two themes refuse to work with the adsense-deluxe plugin
by that I mean, I activated the plugin, graphic for ebook cover pushed sidebar over, tables or CSS div shifted... really made my site look ametureish

hmm,
