I have some questions about wordpress.com.

I know they don't allow adsense, will they let you link to an product at amazon using your affiliate id's?

Will they let you use text-link ads?

If not, how do you transfer a blog to a hosted wordpress.ORG blog. The instructions at Wordpress.org seem to assume that you are hosting it on your own server. The instructions at the Hosting company seem to assume you're using some other software.

As far as textlink ads... I've never used the .com verison. Have you tried asking support?

I'm not clear on the second part of your question. Are you asking how you port data from your .com to a new custom blog you have set up with the .org version? Or are you asking how to set up wordpress.org on a server? I'll assume the former... It seems to me that unless .com allows you to somehow export a backup of the database you're going to have to copy and paste it all in your .org manually. But if you can get the SQL it isn't hard to throw it in your phpMyAdmin to get it transfered to your hosted account. Find out if you can get an exported SQL file and I'd be glad to help you from there.

There is no hosted wordpress.org solution - you need your own hosting + domain. Once you have this set up, you can export from a Wordpress.com blog, and import into the blog on your own server.
