On my blog, the body is not centered with the header and I'm not sure why.

Is it because my post titles are too long?

for example.. perhaps this one:

http://software4yourmind.com/2006/07/20/fu...ed-like-he-was/

or is it because of the amazon.com button/graphic that I put on this post:

http://software4yourmind.com/2006/07/23/gr...white-and-blue/

any ideas gang?

If it's niether... then maybe I'll be hunting for a different theme...

thanks in advance

Hi, David. I don't understand what's wrong with those pages. I looked at them. They looked fine: beautiful and functional. The body section is also centered just fine in the page. I'm using Firefox 1.5.0.6.

Now, your root page looks bad. I think this is the problem:
Quote:
<div align="center"><a href="http://software4yourmind.com">NLP 101: your representation of what I said is not my representation of what I meant by saying it.

David Bruce"</a></center>[/b]
You should not have </center>. Instead, you should use </div>.

Also, on this page, the title "Part of you is looking at another part of you… in contempt," overlaps the bookmarking icons on the screen. Here's why:
Quote:
<h2>Part of you is looking at another part of you… in contempt</h2>
<span style="color:#0000FF"><div class="toppost">
</span>[/b][/quote]
And in your stylesheet:
Quote:
.toppost {
float: right;
margin-top: -15px;
}[/b]
Take the stuff in red and get rid of it completely. It's screwing you up. Take the stuff in blue, if you want, and move it to before the <h2> tag.

Thanks TimK!!!

your suggestions fixed a few of my css problems...

I just checked in firefox and now the body is greyed out...

To my horror I just found this comment in the style sheet:

/* Yes, the CSS is incredibly messy, but I really don't have the energy to overgo and check everything. I did not do the base; blame Heilemann */

After about a dozen "help wordpress theme problem" posts
both to this forum and the Warriorforum, I think I should get
a better theme...

I'm now wondering about the SEO aspects of a theme, but that
should really go in a fresh post to this forum...

thank you Yaro for inviting me to this very useful forum!
