It's done through a plugin. You can try this one:
WordPress › Get Recent Comments « WordPress Plugins The first place to look for new functionality is the plugins page at Wordpress. I didn't even have to search for this one; it was one of the most downloaded ones that they display on the main plugin page: WordPress › WordPress Plugins

thanks a lot,but i would like them to show right below the article, Yaro does this and many others. I see how you showed me to do it but that posts them in a widget on the side. I'm not really looking for that style. Not sure if you know how to make them view directly below your article.
I have read a lot about having to change code and all? not sure were to go from here Last edited by devilsrule2004 : 26th February 2008 at 01:03 PM. |

I'm not sure that I understand what you are trying to do, then.
If you mean how do you change the text that tells people how many comments there are, there are quite a few threads with that answer. Here's a recent one: http://www.blogtrafficschool.com/for...-comments.html If you mean actually displaying the comments themselves below the articles on the home page, that would be a theme hack and I've never seen anybody do that.

Well, since I can't really picture it, then point me at a site that does do it and maybe I can help.
If you just want some of the comments to appear, look at how they are added in the comments.php file of your theme (if there is one - otherwise it might happen in the single.php or one of the other pages) and just copy that part of the code to your main index page. Just make sure that it is inside the loop so that it applies to the correct article.

Hi Yaro, Blaine,
Nice blog and forum here, good work guys ![]() I've been in internet marketing for 2 years, but have just recently putting some efforts creating my own wordpress blog and play around with it. I'm impressed with Yano's blog, it's simple yet full of features. I'm inspired to create my blog by modeling Yano's. Hence I'd like to get some advise what does it take to turn my basic wordpress blog to one that looks like Yano's ? Does Yano use a customized theme ? If not, where can I get the same theme ? What other plugins are required ? Would appreciate for any suggestion. Thanks in advance. Cheers, Jeffrey Last edited by jeffrey : 20th May 2008 at 08:15 AM. |

Jeffrey,
Yaro hired a designer for a customized theme. Your best bet is to find a similar styled theme that you like and get that customized with any features that you like that aren't already present. You can hire somebody at guru.com or rentacoder.com or elance.com (or any similar site) to do the customizations for you. Or, of course, you could hire a designer and go through the entire process from scratch, but that's much more time consuming and expensive.
