Hi,
I am trying to increase the amount of rss feed readers for my blog, is it worth submitting to blog directories to improve this? Also any comments on other ways I can improve my blog would be great ![]() Thanks, Kev

Submitting your site to blog directories if you're lucky might get you 1-2 new RSS subscribers. Writing great content and having conversations with other bloggers will help a lot more. Good luck!

Hmm, I wouldn't agree with that. I think comments should be on from day one. What you have to do is get talking about other blogs - link to them - so you can bring in at least one or two comments on your pillar articles. When those comments come in keep fanning the flames by responding with more comments, asking questions, etc.
SEOmoz probably makes their recommendation because it doesn't look good to have no comments in terms of social proof. I agree with that, but I think it's possible to encourage comments effectively from day one, if that's a traffic strategy you are going to focus on.
