Some Direction Needed

The reason I am e-mailing you is because I need to talk to someone who can give me an honest opinion and some good direction.

For the past year, I have been trying to start a store on E-bay and because of being nickled and dimed to death, I decided to check into affiliates and blogging.

I am currently looking at Wordpress and Dreamhost. But I saw a statement on Wordpress that kind of confused me.

In this past year, I have spent a lot of money and have not gotten anywhere.

There is a lot of information out there and I keep getting off track.

How do you stay on track?

My intention for working on-line is to make extra money and also do something I enjoy. I thought about a blog because you can write about many things.

I have been told that you need to pick a niche to write about and stay with that. Than you hear that you should sell something that you like.

With so many opinions out there, I have become extremely frustrated and confused.

I have many interests and I would like to write about those many interests but if it is going to hurt my business in any way, than I am not sure how to proceed.

What I foresee is a site where I can educate, inform, update others on items, such as health issues, issues about animals (pets), law, jewelry.

I am kind of leaning to a blog that will give you the 2 sides of an issue. You usually see only the one side. If you can have both sides on one blog, that will allow the reader to "be the judge".

I feel there is a lot of 1 sided opinions out there about different topics but no one giving the facts and leaving it to the public.

Does that sound like a good route to go? I would also add some marketing affiliates, maybe stores and other things that I can think of.

I have gotten to the point where I need some good honest help without any spinning.

I am to the point where I am thinking that all my hard work this past year was a waste of time, even though I believe it hasn't been.

Unfortunately no one can really answer this question, it's up to you to commit to something based on your unique situation.

What I can tell you is stick to one thing long enough to see if it works for you. Don't do more than one course at a time and certainly do not make any assessments until you put into action what you learned from what program you choose to follow.
