Unhappy Please Help me select a topic for blogging

I still think I am not meant to become a blogger, but my mom wont allow me to quit blogging as she knows I have problem of switching from one interest to another(what is the problem called? If doesn't have a name : Jaseem's syndrome).

So, I don't want to waste my time. I want something out of blogging. I want myself to be satisfied about blogging.

I still don't know what to write about. There are lot of things I am interested in, like boardgames, quiz, reading blogs and even SEO. Tell me if you want me to list them all.

I can select one of them as topic for blogging, the problem is that I lack expertise in all of them.

There is only one thing I believe I am an expert in : mathematics. But, what can i do with 10th grade mathematics blogging. (Yup, I am a schoolboy).

I hope some of you are brilliant and kind enough to help me. May be you will get another person really grateful to you.

I suggest you stick with one topic that you know you are definitely better than average at AND other people have benefited from your skills in that area.

Then, give it a proper run - try and write articles to help or entertain people and do it every day for a month, then every second day for two more months.

However, if you are not enjoying that process, then you need to look for another topic.

Unfortunately no one can give you an answer to this question. You have to take a best guess, and then go test it. That is the only answer.

Thank you Yaro.

Hm, I am better than average in my school, but I am not interested in writing about that boring place.

I am better than average in quizzing. I don't how I can put that to a blog.

I am better than average in pc management. But, since lot of people blog on that topic and because I can't write much on it, it is not suitable for me.

Thanks again. Waiting for your reply. :-)

I suggest you do some research - see what sites seem to have an audience about your topic (look at forums on that topic for popularity) and see if you can find a topic that way.

The answer is out there, if you are prepared to look and then take a gamble.

Great! What if there is no topic for me to blog about. That can and may happen. What should I do then? Sorry, if you feel like I am wasting your valuable time.

Yaro's right, you must blogging about something you know and have some expertise. Why should I go to your blog If I cannot learn something new, interesting and/or useful.

Nobody can help you what to blog about. Take a paper and write down all skills and knowledge you think you have. Also ask friends and relatives about your skills and knowledge they think you have. Do not ask them to confirm points of your own list, just ask them for an opinion related to your skills and knowledge. Make a long list, the longest possible.

Then make some research to see how many people are interested in every skill you have. (wordtracker.com or better search the net for 'keyword suggestion tools' to find more possibilities)

The final decision is your. You may choose from your skills that are most requested by people.

(I'm good in theory, hehe)

Yaro's right. Write something where you are good at. If you love sports then go write and blog about sports. This way, you will enjoy what you do.

I second Yaro's advice. Start up a number of blogs, like maybe 3-5 on things you genuinely enjoy doing, test out the marketing techniques (include Facebook and Myspace too if its something your friends might like) and see which one gets you the most traffic + the most enjoyment and stick to that
