traffic boost through blog comments???

hello again yaro,
thanks for your recent newsletter with info for us blogspot bloggers that new blogger is now compatible for text ad links! great to hear but i am still struggling basic issues, namely building traffic to my blog in order to benefit on my adsense ads.

my hawaii blog is google indexed, gets updated quite frequently, shows decent search results in google in my target keywords but...my blog index page still displays public ads whereas post URLs show targeted ads (no clue why that is). i guess it all comes down to not enough traffic and no PR yet.

despite my recent 'extreme blog makeover' and good feedback from everybody, the blog definitely needs to get going with more comments! people write me emails but don't leave a comment!!!!!! any fast working remedy?

Remedy number 1: Don't give them the email address - instead, ask them to write comments :-)

Remedy number 2: If they write you emails, place ads in your email replies

Last but not least:
Maybe people can sense that you're not really interested in their comments - you're interested in the adsense money?

thanks. this link was what i needed....i read all recommendations about how to get more blog comments including comments to this post! definitely an eye opener for newcomers like myself. new bloggers read this!!!!

i will start my next post with a question in title like 'is the sun always shining in hawaii?' will be back in this forum soon. have work to do now.

Thanks Halina for your thoughts...there is something to it. Had already removed the Google ads for some time. Might just do it again till the blog shows more traffic and comments!
