Let me get this straight:

The instructions say insert this: "<!----Adsense---->" into my post or wherever I want the ad to end up.

Are you saying that I should use this instead "<Adense>"?

When I am at the text editor I click on the HTML link which opens the HTML version of the post. I don't know if that is what you mean by source but any changes made there seem to work.

I am going to try the non-dashed insertion.

Thanks
First, if the instructions say to use "<!----Adsense---->" then do that. That isn't what you originally typed. Second, I didn't say to use "<Adsense>", I said to try "<!--Adsense-->". The number of dashes will make a difference. I don't know how you are trying to insert the adsesne into your post, so I can't help you. Just read the directions of your plugin.

For myself, I always implement the adsense as part of the theme. I don't want to ahve to worry about it on individual posts. Too much work, and you can't change it as easily.

Default A little of both

I started blogging for fun because I enjoy writing and exchanging ideas with others online. But then, when I realized I could also profit from it, that became a secondary goal.

Default 3/10 PR for my blog - true or false?

do i blog for cash or fun? good question.

when i started out 6 mos. ago, my main purpose was blogging as a support and supplement to my regular hawaii websites.

then i kind of got addicted to blogging, joined several forums - Yaro's was the first one i joined and still love to come back to, in addition to reading his newsletter (great read for blog newbies!) - and finally traffic picked up and it looks like, today i saw for the first time a 3/10 PR?! i am not quite sure weather i can trust my eyes. guys, do you see the a same 3/10 PR on my blog or is my google bar fooling me?

in any case, if the 3/10 is correct plus i also noticed that my google ads are finally showing up some nice target ads (high paying would be nice!), then i might be blogging for fun + cash soon. aloha, pua

About my adsense confusion, I just cut and pasted their example into my post, with all of the dashes.
Are you saying that the number of dashes can have an effect on the result? Man, I have a lot of work to do learning HTML/CSS if I want to have any amount of control over my blog site.
I appreciate your advice, though.

Concerning ad placement, I too, would like my ads to be part of my page structure as opposed to placing them in each of my posts.
I realize this isn't the place for a in-depth instruction but where exactly do you put the ads?
I've accessed my php files via my webite control panel so I am fairly familiar with how the different files are related.
Based on my <adsense> difficulty I clearly am a complete beginner with HTML or anything else that deals directly with Source codes and the like.

Take care
JP
