Default SERP problem with google

Hello,
I just have a problem with my blog and was thinking if you guys could help me out. On my blog, when i write a article about a popular term/keyword, after it got indexed, it got to the first page on google and i got about 400 uniques that day, but the next day, the serp fell to page 60+. The content was unique so i really dunno what went wrong. Do you have any idea or does anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks,
Sarma

Hi Sarma,

It might be because of some kind of honeymoon period - see this article details The Google Honeymoon Period ยป Internet Business Blog | Entrepreneurs-Journey.com - by Yaro Starak

But that's a pretty drastic change - after the honeymoon drops are not usually that significant.

Perhaps your blog was "punished" and your article dropped accordingly. Have you been buying a lot of text links lately?

I suggest you keep watching too - it might just be a re-indexing process and your article will show up again and settle somewhere closer to the top, just not as high as you were.

Yaro

Hey, thanks for the article it really explained some things, but i don't think this is kinda it since that article i wrote fell to 650th spot down and even more, and it happened just the other day.

but since it only happened about 2 weeks ago, i will need to look more into it. As for the honeymoon, i think google does give some points for fresh content BUT why does it than give some more benefit to sites that are older? or even pages?

Maybe i should get some more relevant links to there...

Also, they may be some problems, since i made couple of more blogs on that domain, just in folders like.

sitename.com/ringtones/
sitename.com/weightloss/

But the main blog is the most powerful one and has been updated almost daily for about half a year now. Also, the backlinks could have something with this, since i get some oneways regularly and i have about 40k now.

It'd be real good to know how to get that spot back.

BTW, you have great stuff going on here, grats!
