Impass on How to Promote My Writing

Hi all.

Here's a little dilemma that I hope some of you have an opinion on.

I already have my blog up for a couple of months (theparadiddler.com, a blog about drums and drumming). Recently, a new web site called DrumChannel.com opened up, creating a community for drummers, professional and amateur, for collaboration, lessons, live steaming shows, etc.

Anyway, the offer the possibility to would-be writers to submit news or articles for them to publish for public consumption on their site. I submitted one of my articles that I already blogged on my site. I received a response saying that although it seems like I'm a good writer, the content had to be original (i.e., not on another web site). I could post it on my blog on the site (which I haven't done at all, I already have a blog!).

I believe it would be a good thing to maybe write something for them to gain exposure and possible traffic to my site, but whatever I write for them won't be on my site (maybe I could link to it?).

The balance between original content on my site and exposure on another (potentially big) site. Which way to go? Suggestions? In the meantime, you can check out my site (theparadiddler.com) for yourselves and critique at will, especially if you like the drums!

I would just treat them as an article syndication service, similar to EZA. Just write some short unique articles for them or repurpose content from your email newsletter (don't have one yet? Now's a good time to start!)

You seem to love your topic, which ables you to write more content easy,
so, I think it would be a good Idea to submit a few articles to them in order to promote your site or blog.
