Yesterday as I was reading the news about Wikipidia "nofollow" rule for all outgoing links, I have already found a plug in to retaliate against Wikipidia....
But this made me to think about default "nofollow" rule in WordPress and maybe other platforms when it comes to comment area. I personally do not use it, since I believe that if another fellow blogger finds my post interesting anough to comment he/she deserves to be recognized. I believe Yaro, your blog does the same but I have noticed some other blogs like for example Darren's have "noffollow" in the comment area. I imagine that problogger.net is an exeptional site when it comes to commenting and it is probably very difficult to monitor every single comment. Anyway, what is your take on "nofollow" in blog comment area? If you are using a "dofollow" did you see any benefits such as a rise in comments? Do you think it helps to prevent spam? Do you think more bloggers will use "follow-index" rule in comments area since Wikipedia, and maybe some other social networks may move into "nofollow" practice.

I don't think that nofollow actually does anything, so I stopped worrying about it one way or the other.

the nofollow bothers those trying to get their PageRank up. But I understand why some places do it, people would be posting just to top ranking sites just to get their PR up.
