The First Blog Post

Hi guys

I'm just about to start a blog - I've got Wordpress installed, setup and ready to run, just a few changes to make then I'm ready.

But I've got writers block! I'm okay with the subject, I can talk about that for hours, but how do I START the blog?

Should I just dive straight in, or should the first post be an introduction/about me type affair? Or do I leave that for a specific page?!

Oh you can't have writers block right at the start! I think you have too many options block!

I suggest you start by writing about yourself then go to work writing ten really good pillar articles on topics in your industry - definitions, how-tos, stories about lessons you learnt, etc.

Once you have about ten good articles posted and you have more ready to come out every day for the next few weeks, you can start promoting your blog.

I used to write introductions on my blogs but I've found that it's just best to dive right in. Do your introduction on an about page and then maybe link to it in your first post with something like: "I know you're all dying to hear what I've got to say about such and such so if you want to learn more about me visit my About Me page" or something. I've seen this done at another blog and thought it was cool.
