Default hi, introducing myself, and some general questions

hello, my name is Ed i have been reading alot on blogging and i have read the entire blueprint as well. i do not have a blog but have been considering one. by far my biggest stumbling block has been the subject of the blog itself.

my interests are topics that unfortunately have immensely large amounts of content and writers out there to begin with. and to make things worse...the audience is generally very savvy and not the type to ever click on an ad for ANYTHING.

these interests would be of a largely dorky but popular nature, and not niche in the slightest. anime (japanese animation) and manga (japanese comics) video games, and computer technology. are these even remotely viable areas anymore? i have other less passionate interests/hobbies but i by no means am an expert on them.

im afraid that the internet has become way way too flooded in particular with the kindof savy users and topics ive mentioned. so im at an utter loss as to a subject.

but my interest is still there,i would love to hear suggestions though.
an example of a newer interest i have less but daily increasing authority over is juicing and its health related topics.

And neither do you have to be an expert in something just to justify having a blog on a topic you enjoy. I can almost guarantee you that the vast majority of bloggers out there, myself and Yaro included, just wrote on the topics we picked because we have a PASSION in them. We loved speaking about "x" so we made a blog about it and started talking all about it. Some interested readers liked what we said and spread the word, thus our traffic grew immensely.

Topic ideas for you: Is there a sub-niche within the niche that you enjoy even better then the niche as a whole? Then blog on that topic. For example, you love anime (niche), but you like the distinct category of artwork that anime uses to appreal to its viewers just a little bit more (sub-niche). You should write a blog on the artwork used in anime. You would be suprised that a good amount of traffic may exist within that sub-niche.

Hope that helps!
