Default Yaro's Blogging Blueprint

I just had the pleasure of reading through Yaro's e-book "Blog Profits Blueprint", and I think it is worthwhile for anyone to go and have a read, since it is clear, concise, and full of great ideas for new and established bloggers alike:

Yaro Starak's Blog Mastermind - Early Notification Signup

If I have one criticism to make it is that Yaro seems convinced - perhaps too much - that everyone can become a sucessful blogger. I could not disagree more. I think that to a greater degree than any other activity, blogging leverages a diverse array of skills that not very many people possess.

Consider this: a successful blog needs a high level of writing competency, a slick graphic design and layout, some degree of marketing expertise, some degree of expertise in the subject topic, technical web-development skills, and interpersonal networking skills (to name a few).

Now, it is true that you could "outsource" a lot of these things, but that will inevitably eat into the profits considerably, something that new bloggers would be unequipped to handle.

So, in conclusion, my theory is that the most successful blogs will be run by people who are highly technically skilled, creative, and good at writing (not to suggest that I am any of the above). People with a different set of skills could try to get into blogging, but perhaps their efforts would be better spent in a niche where they have a greater advantage.

I would love to hear people's thoughts on this. What have been your biggest skillset challenges in setting up your blog?

I agree with you Boolio to a certain degree. I think all the skills you mention are necessary, and like you said, can be outsourced, and also learned (I wouldn't be starting a mentoring program if I didn't think people were capable of learning new skills and applying them).

In my opinion though, it's not a lack of the skills you mention that stops most people - it's attitude.

If you believe you can have everything you need to build a successful blog then you will. The belief followed by enough congruent action will get you there. It's as simple as that.

Some people will take longer than others, but everyone is capable in my opinion, just most people choose not to, as demonstrated by their actions (or lack thereof).

A vision and the right mindset are more important than any skillset because with a strong vision and empowering attitudes, anyone can do whatever they want.

Yaro, did you create the design for the title page? It gives the book a very professional look.

You said over 5000 people have downloaded the ebook. Tim Ferris says in his book that sales of a book of over 5000 copies is considered a success. I was wondering if any publishers have approached you yet.

I am currently writing my own ebook on how I was able to build passive income with travel websites. I am also making it available for free download.

Default I look forward to it

I am trying to develop a travel website based on various seasonal festivals that tourists might be interested in. I look forward to seeing your e-book!

No book publisher approaches as yet Mike - although I'm happy with 5000 for my first book.

If I could get 5000 members into my mentoring program, now that would be good!

I had my graphic design guy do the book cover - I like it a lot too!

My philosophy has always been along the lines of what Yaro is saying... if one has enough determination to take on a project, learn what has to be learnt and apply it, or realize when you need to get outside help, then anyone can blog. I have always been of the mindset that I can do anything I put my mind too. Five months ago I really didnt understand what a blog was at all. In march I started a blog called 7dollarbooks.com. In four months, with tons of hard work is has grown to a point where it provides more than half of my income. So, if I can do it, anyone can.
