Smile Wordpress Themes

I am stressed about theme selection (I know with 0 traffic, this probably shouldn't be my biggest concern right now ).

I have seen themes optimized for SEO and themese optimized for adsense. I have not seen a theme built for both.

I really like the copyblogger theme and the author who created seems really knowledgeable about the details of a good SEO optimized theme. The three column version has the entire left column blank which would be good for advertising given google heatmaps. However the theme is not fixed width intentionally so the ads look wonky at different resolutions.

Does anyone recommend a good SEO/Adsense ready theme? Also what do you look for when selecting a theme? Am I over thinking the importance of this (aside from the fact that I should be writing pillar content instead of dickering with these details)

Regards,

Greg

Default Yaro Theme

Greg,

I share your stress about theme choice! There is a video somewhere around Yaro's site(s) that has him critiquing someones blog (maybe someone can post a link to this).

A suggestion might be to have a "Yaro Theme" available for download for Blog Mastermind members. Not a copy of entrepreneurs-journey.com, but a theme that would have the basics - you know, tabbed page links across the top, an RSS icon in the upper right corner, an email subscription opt-in, bookmarking etc. Sort of a Yaro 1.0 default theme with possible future content on how to change, add, and delete elements of the theme. I think this would be huge value-add to this membership by getting us up and running quickly and getting us on the same page (sorry, bad pun).

Default Suggestion 2.0

As a follow-up, and maybe more in keeping with the entrepreneurial spirit of this site, perhaps Yaro can offer WordPress template designers (such as the one he employed to design his entrepreneurs-journey.com) to sell their Yaro-approved designs through the Mastermind's resources page, or some such thing - versus, say, having to post a job request on elance.com. This would go a long way to filter out designers who are unfamiliar with what Yaro looks for in a page layout.

Default If you first do not succeed...

Hire a mentor...

Seriously, Greg. I tried to respond to you twice. Hope this third time is a charm.

What I've really enjoyed and retained from Yaro's MP3 downloads so far is the necessity to outsource whenever you can or should. That said, it might be possible to further monetize the member's-only area of blogmastermind.com by selling ad space to those who can offer their services to get us up and running quickly. Yaro has a definite opinion about what a blog should look like (see the video of his critique of another's blog). It shouldn't be too hard to have developers code themes that would sync well with Yaro's standards. It could be a win-win-win situation.
