I got a question that I need an answer to, so I can prepare for a future move of my blog. My blog "Internet Help for PC User's" is currently hosted on Wordpress.com. I have no complaints about Wordpress. However, I am seeing the eventual need to move it elsewhere, so I can use Wordpress 2.0 and be able to have access to other options that I can't use on Wordpress.com.
My question is: Should I host my blog on a server of my very own, or is there a host on the Internet that I can move my blog to in order that I can use options such as text link adds and other monetizing options? I am open to either direction and was just wondering what I should do? - I may have more questions later? |

The most cost effective means of hosting would to go through a shared host such as Web Hosting by DreamHost Web Hosting: Web Sites, Domain Registration, WordPress, Ruby on Rails, all on Debian Linux! or HOSTGATOR WEB HOSTING - cPanel, Reseller, and Dedicated Website Hosting
For under $10 per month, you would have enough resources available to you to run a very large blog. |

Thanks Brad, can you elaborate a little more on shared hosting? I may know it by another phrase? If it's what I think you are referring to, I agree. Do you have any suggestions as to what site to recommend? Thanks Tim

Shared hosting is essentially just a web hosting account. The reason I refer to it as shared web hosting is because you are sharing a web server with many other websites. Ultimately it is the best option for most blogs, especially new ones.
We'll be in touch and I can point you in the direction of some web hosts I would recommend. Cheers, Brad |
