Hey everyone! So glad to be a part of this community; somewhat reassuring to know there's free business help out there!
Here's a fun question: What's the worst hotel you've ever stayed in? I love traveling, but I remember staying in this one hotel that smelled like being downwind of a row of porta-potties, mixed with cigar smoke...it was disgusting! I also went on a trip a few weeks ago for my friend's birthday, and after sticking us on the first floor with a nice view of an alleyway and a dumpster, we discovered a coffee-like stain in the sheets, and the best part is that the room didn't have a coffee maker....fun! Check out this funny video, called "Ballad of a Traveler": YouTube - Ballad of a Traveler I work with Hampton Inn, and I'd love to hear your horror stories! What's the worst experience you've ever had at a hotel? (I always get a kick outta this!) |

I'm a big fan of the Hampton Inns, BTW. My worst stay ever was in Manhattan for a sci-fi convention at one of the older hotels in midtown. We were put in a room with peeling wall paper, a shabby bedspread and pipe bed frames. We pitched a fit with the front desk, so they gave as a much nicer, more updated room across from the elevator and ice machine. Success? Hardly. The air-conditioner worked more like a heater. And this was late August. Ah, good times.

Oooh that DOES sound fun!
It's always mind-boggling how crummy some of these places can be and manage to keep their doors open, you'd think there would be some regulations! Crazy.Did you check out that video? It's so funny! Let's hear some more stories! |

Vilice - you've never stayed in a hotel? Well that could be good or bad, depending on the hotel, lol!
If you've got any travel plans in the next month or so, you should check out Hampton Inn - they're even running a special right now where you can get 10% off the best available rate until September 1st Not to mention they're also giving away bikes and vacations and tons of other stuff, all leading up to the Olympics (which I can't wait for!!!). Check it out HERE! ![]() |

I am a big fan of the show Ghost Hunters which is usually shown in the United States on the Sci-Fi channel. A team called TAPS (The Atlantic Paranormal Society) is a group of professional ghost hunters/busters, who are led by two plumbers, Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson. Yes, you read that right, plumbers. Their interest in the paranormal stemmed from having clients complain of strange activities in their home while they went about their plumbing work. Usually these were noises from either broken pipes or weak foundations, but eventually their curiosities were piqued and they became more interested in the paranormal and all things related to it. Over the years, extensive studies on ghosts, hauntings and sightings have made them the leading paranormal team in the country and indeed the world. They are usually called on by home or businesses owners, to investigate and to help solve whatever mysteries they might harbor.
