Default What business should I consider?

Hi everybody, I have been working in a credit management company (at a smaller level) and was with them for a quite a number of years. But, now I am planning to start my own business in somewhat a similar pattern. Since, I have been asscociated with credit, debit and accounts work so I would be interested in a similar kind of business. I don’t have a large capital to start a company but would like to have my very own business at small scale.Any suggestions on which business and what steps should I take???

Default Create a product

Do you want to be self employed or truly be a business owner?

It sounds like you just want to change bosses, to work for yourself... doing the same things but under your own 'company name' where you take on more responsibility and pressure than you already have.

If you’re looking to be an owner of something... I would look at creating a product something that will sell while you sleep (I am a big fan of the 4 hour work week myself; it goes into good detail about this http://fourhourworkweek.com).

Have you considered publishing an eBook outlining what you know about the industry you have worked in?

Cheers,
Paul

I think going on in a similar way would be the best option as you have already said that. You can go for a credit repair business as the demand for such business is on the constant rise and it does not require a big investment. It has flexible working and since you are from the credit side you can very well understand the working of a credit repair business .

Of course, along your line of expertise would be necessary. You can expand that to credit repair or financial management especially with the crisis we are in right now.

Default Good time for credit repair & budgets

Many folks are in debt (you know what) due to the current credit collapse and the mortgage mess. If there is a service in which you can help people restore their credit after foreclosure, bankruptcy, or even help them to better budget their money....I think now is the best time in history for that type of service.

More foreclosures than anytime in the past
Probably also more personal bankruptcies due to similar issues

So families need to understand a "credit bureau report", how to actually read one, and how to improve their overall credit from a bank's perspective.

But - first and far most, do something you have a passion and desire for.

The options are quite many, me thinks. You can become a consultant in your industry, taking whatever area you specialized in and was strongest at and going and helping companies fix problems in those areas.
You can start up a blog and position yourself as an expert on your industry.
You can create marketable information products - ebooks, audio interviews with you and other experts in your field, templates, case studies etc etc and market them using the variety of marketing methods allowed online - article marketing, pay per click, joint ventures with former clients and collegues
You can become a speaker in your industry.
You can run teleseminars for professionals in your industry.
And those are just information related careers. It all comes down to your strenghts, passions and what type of lifestyle you want I would think.
