Your Opinion Please

I can't find where general intro's are made so I'm here. I'm new and do not yet have a blog. My name is Alex and I am retired. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area in California. I never really had any hobbies or intense interests so I don't know what niche to follow. I'll determine that once I get my first blog up and running. I honestly believe that the timing is GREAT for the 'How To Make Money On The Internet' niche and that is where I want to head. The American economy, as most of you know, is in utter turmoil. There are hundreds if not thousands of people facing the prospect of losing not only their jobs but their very homes as well. Many of these people, like ourselves, here at this forum are looking for ways of making ends meet. So I hope to be one of the ones to help them out and direct them with honest info. (Becoming a rarity on the internet)

I have my domain name, a hosting service and will be signing up with Aweber in the next couple of days. I am new to IM and hope as most of us here to supplement if not replace my current income. I was forced to retire some time ago due to illness and my Social Security income is not enough to maintain any decent or respectful way of life. I know I am not alone, but I choose to do something about it. That's what has me here. My domain name is my own personal name becuase I want to ‘brand myself’ on the net. Where I am stuck is determining whether to build a static HTML site and add blogs or just have a static blog as my home. I have read opinions supporting both alternatives and without any experience I am hoping someone here, with experience, can give me their advice. I wanted to ask a mentor this question, but the 'Questions for Mentors' section is closed. (they're asking for a password and I don't have one for that part of the forum). I intend to begin marketing affiliate products from Clickbank to begin with. I also have a membership to good PLR products that I want to market as well. With that in mind, can someone here please give me their opinion on what is the best way to go and why? Thanks
