Legal Requirements

Hello all,

I have read many articles written on this page and I enjoy them all. I must say they have been the most informative out of any I have found online. I was wondering though, if any information could be provided about the legal requirements of bringing a business online. I am currently running through many business ideas, and I imagine the legal considerations would be a large factor in determining what sort of business is best for me. What sort of events have you run into? What licenses and tax forms are required? Any information on this topic would be great, thank you

Hi Casen,

It really depends on a number of factors... really, what KIND of business and where you're running it from.

If it's just an "online" business, there's a lot less to worry about than, say, if you're going to customers to carry out work - or running offices (although if you have a big online biz you'll still need to abide by employment law etc).

Here in the UK, there are no "specific" online business requirements, although there is a push towards accessibility (standards compliance, etc).

You really should visit a BusinessLink (or you're equivelant) or maybe you're local government office can help.
