I've noticed we have quite a few AIS site builders coming to these forums lately and with thanks to the John Reese video I suspect we will see many more.

I have a question for all you AISers - which information products (books, CDs, software etc) have you purchased to educate yourself and which subscription services do you use?

Perhaps that should be which do you recommend although it's good to know which not to buy as well.

I've had a couple and nearly bought a few more.

Just returned from Myanmar so a bit knackered today.

I'll post in the next day or 2 so please check back if you're interested.

I haven't yet bought any informational/instructional products. From what I've read, most of the information in these e-books and so on is already available online in forums and so on, if you're prepared to look for it.

With regards to subscription services for site building and so on, I've tried to steer clear of these too, since I'm not yet convinced that the investment would be worthwhile - at the moment am concentrating on building sites by hand and using unique content.

One thing I have bought is Dotwidget for Downloads (www.dotwidget.com) - useful for offering downloadable products automatically.

Sorry, I realise that doesn't really answer your question Yaro!

No that's pretty good Tom. What you are doing is an option for most online money making methods. Generally all info products like e-books are replicating content that is available in forums and websites, it's just not packaged in an easy to consume/best practice format that way.

That being said I have a feeling those keyword research member sites may have some advantages since you get access to a lot of people's research. Then again you have to share that research with all the other members - so who knows!

That's why I'm so interested to hear what others have to say...lets see who pops in a response.

Here's a rundown of my AIS Info Products & Subscription Services to date.

DominateAdsense – Offer ends at midnight. Buy now for just $97 (One off cost) plus tax

Bad decision in hind sight. I don’t usually get sucked into get-rich-quick sales pitches, but I wanted to try this one out nonetheless. Ready made templates and articles optimized for AdSense.

Hmm! The templates looked auto generated (identical and basic) and the articles all linked back to the authors so nothing unique there and a fair bit of work to do in order to make each basic site look a little different from the other.

Article Minor – Support is good, nice system, lots of content. One off cost $97.

Not sure about this one. Literally tens of thousands of article and thousands more every month. I’m focusing more on unique content now though and these articles are copywrite protected which means you cannot alter them in anyway plus you have to leave the author and chosen links in place with each piece. The trouble with this is that your site can be one of many with the same written content

Keyword Avalanche – fantastic keyword lists and forum support for the hardcore AIS portal builders. Cost $57 (monthly subscription).

Anyone serious about real AIS, should be part of this. I got a lot out of it but have recently unsubscribed as I’ve changed direction towards smaller, more specific, quality, SEO sites based on tight niches.

Just a word of caution. The true AIS sites are built with quantity over quality and you do need to make a lot of them. If this is okay with you I’d say go for it.See this thread here for more details.

Article Underground – 400 unique articles each month and great support forum. $97 (Monthly subscription)

I’m loving this one as the idea is to have personalized websites that don’t run the risk of getting banned by Google and the others major search engines. Your sites need a little more TLC from you the webmaster, but built correctly they should be able to generate you income for years to come. Also touched on in this post here.

AdSense Tracker – Monitor your AdSense with precession. One off cost of $67

Advertised as A Secret Weapon That Instantly Gives You the Unfair Advantage for Maximizing Your Revenue With Google’s AdSense™ Program. I just purchased this one and I think it’s going to be very beneficial.

AdSense Tracker will show you how many searches were performed on ALL your websites and on each page. By using the in depth analysis tools, you can discover which ad style pulled the most clicks. Which color worked best and where the best position for your ads is. You can click through from the page to get detailed results of each search..

I have of course purchased quite a few domains and hosting packages but the above have been the major costs to date.

I have; that was one of the first things I got when I started looking into this game. I sold a few through adwords just to see if it could be done.

It's a short introduction to a lot of topics. It briefly touches on adwords, selling on ebay, setting up a store, using adsense, etc.

Not everything it promotes is ethical, but there's now a forum available and you get lifetime updates.

You may be better off getting something like Perry Marshall's definitive guide to good adwords or Mark Weber's landing page cash machine.

I'd put in some affiliate links, but I'm too lazy.

Lol! Great stuff Blaine

Yusuf - I suggest you figure out what it is exactly you would like to do online first, then decide which information products to buy.

I've just spent $997 on one of those massive information products on online marketing and there is only one product in the package I really need - a piece of software that I hope will do what I want it to do.

With info products you need to be in the right mindset to make sure you implement what you learn otherwise you are wasting your money, well at least you are not being rewarded financially for your efforts, if it's just knowledge you want then it's okay.

Cheers,

Yaro

I'm a member of Article Underground, like Aitch. I've found it great. The articles are good, giving you a great place to start your targeted AIS site. The best bit, however, is the community. I've not actively taken part yet (posting and what not) but I've been reading intently. The members are constantly sharing tips and posting videos and the like. I'd recommend it to anyone starting along the AIS path.

Other than that, I've bought stuff like the Rich Jerk and stuff, mostly out of curiosity.

Yaro,

Regarding your rather large purchase, it wasn't from a rather smart fellow by the name of Jeff Walker was it?

His product is like the ultimate marketing product and I haven't even bought it. Thats how good his emails are. I'm forever brainwashed.
