If you are researching niches for adwords here's something to keep in mind. Adwords now can have set schedules for campaigns, so just because there are no ads showing for a topic at a certain hour does not mean that topic will not have a flood of ads at another time of the day. For example I was researching how many ads were showing for a certain niche one night just past midnight (U.S. EST time) and there were very few ads showing and I thought I was onto something. The next day about 10 am I looked again and suddenly the key word had many more ads. Just something to take note of.

Hey Carlos - good point. This is a new feature from AdWords. I just received an email from Perry Marshall about it.
While personally I don't see it impacting how I currently campaign using PPC it's a feature that is valuable. Perry gave a good example where a person was bidding for keywords that during business hours brought in good traffic (based on conversion rates) and then after 9PM suddenly went bad. I can't remember the specific example but it was something about the keywords being picked up by people surfing for porn despite it not being relevant to porn surfers. It happened a lot more often late at night so it was worth lowering the bid price for after hours.
