Default Sell my info or put it on my blog?

Hello, I am new to this forum and have a question for the professionals on this forum. I am a writer and I have quite a library of information that could best be placed in the category of personal transformation. After many years of contact with various sufis, yogis, and zen masters, I had my own intuitive "awakening " in the form that can best be described as intuitive communication. This all sounds pretentious and over the top, but it is true.

My question is - do I write all of this information that could genuinely help people - for free on my blog, or do I write just enough to generate interest in purchasing the information in an e-book format? Ye, I would like to make a living doing this AND contribute something to everyone.

The closest blog that I have come across is the Steve Pavlina blog to give you an example of what I am talking about. I know that he makes his income off of affiliates, ads, donations, and text links. And he provides valuable and interesting information to his readers.

Apologies for the long post. Thank you!

I would appreciate your feedback.

Smile From the gut....

Firstly I would not consider myself a professional with regards to your question, so this is purely a personal observation to get this thread kicking....

It would seam that your background would tend you towards wanting to help people and provide that help in the best way you know how, using your personal strengths (writing).

Maybe take the specific topics that you are truely passionate about and focus on those for your e-book/s and create a blog that center's on the theme as exampled above. If you are confident you have great content and know how to market it, you should be able to make money off both.

regards,

Default What are they buying?

It depends what people are buying.

I mean what the ebook(s) will be about. Whether they will be how-to's or whatever. I think ebooks are usually for immediate consumption - an in-depth brochure more than a book usually.

If you can find stuff in the niche that people want you could make a great living I think. But it does need to be a felt need - people usually go on line to get something immediate whether information or a solution to a problem.

You can of course also sell normal books.

Best of luck.

as a blogger myself, it might be a good idea if you blog your ideas. that way, you can mark it as your own and you can also monetize it

My suggestion would be to write some good blog content, then offer the e-book free as an incentive for people subscribe to your blog. Give your information away free in exchange for building a large readership.

When you have good repeat traffic advertisers will be interested. You then need a profile of your traffic and find advertisers that are interested in your demographic.

Why not selling it? You could either open a paid membership website, or write an e-book, then try to contact Steve Pavlina and persuade him to endorse and recommend your book or your membership site to his readers. If you find 3-4 personalities in the personal development field, and convince them you have great stuff in there, you might manage to make good money with your e-book. Of course, you can offer those personalities some commissions (a kind of affiliate program), so they'd be motivated to try harder.
