Tips for Writing/Selling Info products?

Does anyone have any tips for writing or selling information products? I have two I'd like to do (or maybe one + a free "hook"), but I'm not really sure where to start. Does anyone have any experience they'd like to share?

I'm specifically looking for advice on capturing contact details and delivering the product.

To write it and convert it to pdf you can use open office or Word with Adobe Acrobat 7. OO is free, but don't know if it has all the features AA 7 has such as copy protection and so forth.

Easiest way to sell is probably going to be click bank. Or you can use Pay Pal with something like oscommerce, but oscommerce will need to be intergrated with pay pal. Click bank's fees are quite high at about 7.5% plus $1 per sale compared with Pay Pal's apprx 3.5% + 30 cents. But with CB you pretty much get an all in one solution. Also PP's top end merchant solution is $20 per month. If you sell $10,000 a year PP will come out a lot cheaper, but again there is some integration work involved.

If you are going to test to see if there is a market for your product you would use adwords combined with aweber. Adwords to advertise a survey site that asks people if they are interested and aweber to collect the responses. If you are only doing one survey site you can forego aweber and just put a a regular form in your survey site that sends an email with the info to your email address. If you have many survey sites running aweber will help you to sort all the responses.

Of course you can skip on testing the market all together if you are confident you can sell it without knowing the market.

You will need to know how to write a good sales letter. There is some free info around on this. I just ordered Ultimate Sales Letter by Dan Kenneddy for $5 shippped on amazon.(an old version).
Last you need to build your sales letter page with a link to order your book. I'm currently making an ebook and have found this part of the process to take the longest.

If you already have an audience or list that knows and trusts you the sales letter may be of less importance. If you are serious consider Andrew and Daryl's course. It teaches you step by step how to do it. Hope this helps to give you some ideas.

Yes, key word heavy ads, key word heavy url if possible, key word heavy landing page, esp the title. Target your keywords heavily using exact and phrase match rather than broad match.
