So I have a few questions about adding some different Adsense ads to my blog and will start with this one. I want to add the ad's to the individual post pages, any one got a good answer for how I can do this? I am sure that I just need to insert the code somewhere in on of my files but I wouldn't know where to start! Id like to do it much like Darren at ProBlogger does at the end of a post on the individual pages. Example here.

Thanks for your help!

By the way, the site I am looking to do this on is Dorm Room Biz.

The site runs on Wordpress, so you want to insert your google adblock code into your single.php file between <?php require('post.php'); ?> and <?php comments_template(); // Get wp-comments.php template ?>

You could also put code into the comments.php file or post.php. Post.php could put code on your index as that is for the individual posts, and comments.php puts it into your comments.

Try the AdSense Deluxe plug-in for WordPress. I believe it can handle this sort of stuff.

Yeah, I use Adsense Deluxe and it is soooo easy to do.
If you look at my blog you can display ads after every post on the homepage, and the ads also come up on the single post page.
Now Im just looking at a way to put the ads at the end of the comments.

So I downloaded the Adsense Deluxe plug-in, dropped it in my FTP's plug-in folder. I activated it and went to Options/Adsense Deluxe. Then I got code off of Adsense for the types of ads I want after each post, pasted it in Adsense code block area and every time I hit "Add Adsense Block" it clicks through to say "Cannot load adsense-deluxe.php."

Anyone have a clue why? So frustrating!

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Thumbs up

Late response but should anyone search the forums for this the problem is that the you need to extract the adsense-deluxe folder from within the original downloaded folder as well as upload the adsense.php file.
Took me some hair pulling and many keystrokes on google to find that one!

I've think there is a limit to the number of adverts you can put on one post. Does anyone know if that's right and if so what the number of adverts is?

This is from Google AdSense Help pages:
  • Up to three ad units may be displayed on each page.
  • A maximum of two Google AdSense for search boxes may be placed on a page.
  • Up to three link units may also be placed on each page.
  • Up to three referral units may be displayed on a page, in addition to the ad units, search boxes and link units specified above.
  • AdSense for search results pages may show only a single ad link unit in addition to the ads Google serves with the search results. No other ads may be displayed on your search results page.
  • No Google ad or Google search box may be displayed in a pop-up, pop-under or in an email.
  • Elements on a page must not obscure any portion of the ads.
  • No Google ad may be placed on any non-content-based pages.
  • No Google ad may be placed on pages published specifically for the purpose of showing ads, whether or not the page content is relevant.
