Default Question???

If you had a $1,000.00 (usd) to promote your blog, how would you spend it.
Break it down for me. Like $300.00 for google adwords, $50.00 for buying stumble hits (@.05 a hit), place banners on websites, you get the idea. Where would you get the most bang for you bucks?
Best Wishes

Thumbs up

Hello, if I had the money to spend just for promoting my blog, this is what I would do step by step: (it is what I am currently doing and it is working for me)
I would get a couple of sites from an awesome provider of ready-built sites that are actually loaded with information. Why? Because I would have my blogs linked to it and visa-versa. Your website will already be optimized for traffic and when people view it, they will see a link to view your blog. People viewing your blog first, will see a link to your website. You can catch high google ad revenues on both fronts. You can spend $20 or a little more and be set up within 20 minutes. It is the best investment I made so far with regard to websites.
Second, I would set up an account with an excellent SEO service provider. In this case (as you would see) it would cost you nothing to get started. You dont pay anything until they prove to you that they can get you to #1 rankings for the keywords you selected. At that point, just you have to pay by bidding on your selected words to maintain that ranking. In the meantime, you get massive traffic along the way.
Third, I would set up a campaign with a great company that targets unique visitors to your site. They are professional, courteous and deliver results. You can get 30,000 visitors for $89. They have larger packages to offer as well. Before using this service, you should make sure your page is optimized to make as much money for you as possible, with more than just adsense. I am presenting a webinar on how to monetize any blog or website. I am also presenting a way to get up to $525 cash this week, for those who need a little start up cash for an internet venture. I recommend attending if you can.
After doing those things, I recommend that you hold on to the rest of the money for about a week so you can analyze the results and determine the next move. You dont need to spend the whole $1000 right away. Make sure your one blog has links to your other blogs so that you get traffic to those blogs too from the same visitors. You want each blog to generate clicks, sales, referrals and returning visitors.

This week only, you can get paid to attend the webinar. To receive an invitation for this Friday or to request a private one-on-one session, call 321-221-9396 or email: vacation@theonlytravelplace.com

I would probably consider using the adwords and the social bookmarking attempts just to get the word out about my blog.

Default social bookmarking...

Yes, that would be a great idea. You will brand yourself quite rapidly and effectively if you do it consistenly. Good luck to you

Default On line and Off

I think the best thing for traffic from other blogs is posts recommending you by other bloggers. I'm not sure that the paid efforts are worth the money - certainly not compared to recommendations from others (word of mouth - or word of keyboard in this case - beats advertising every time).

Off line is a whole 'nother ball game. But depending on your blog could be important.

So maybe using the $1K to pay yourself while you build relationships with other bloggers?

I think a lot depends on what your blog is selling? Something of mass appeal, or something highly specialized. For just a lot traffic, StumbleUpon at .05 is good. Context advertising on Google or Yahoo can bring a lot of inexpensive traffic too.

Twitter and MyBlogLog can also bring a lot of generic traffic.

Targeting specialized traffic is another ballgame. Adwords can be good with narrowly selected keywords. I have been getting better results from Yahoo than Google.

Paid reviews on blogs that have your type of traffic can be great. That is almost like a referral from a friend.

And of course there are free banner exchanges.

The first step is really knowing just who is your target traffic. Then developing the plan to go get those people to your site, and having the initial impression and content to keep them coming back.
