Question Deciding website value

Hi everyone, I've been reading Yaro's blog for some time now but never noticed the forums - I really need to work on my observation skills

After seeing how Yaro thinks and being exposed to other things like the 30 day challenge (and hearing about programs such as Dominiche), the internet marketing world sounds quite interesting - I'm a programmer so I know how things work but not as much about how to create a business.

With all the discussion going on I'm sure there's countless people going after sites on all the major forums and it takes a lot more experience than I have to spot a good deal. But when I click through to sitepoint and see the first 5 sites for sale, they include this: Selling CutGaming.com. PR2 SEO Adsense / Sports Betting infoSite.

Assuming the seller isn't outright lying, that seems like a pretty good offer to get started. I recently dumped $1700 into bonds (I'm not risk-averse, it's just short-term savings) and I'll be lucky to have the market value go up $30 in two months if everyone flees the stock market - so compared to traditional investments this is a huge return. It's easy to compete with the site, but how much effort will people put into competing with a site that makes $30/month?

Assuming I'm open to a $200 investment that pays off at $30 per month (7 months to make back the initial cost + ongoing revenue sounds nice to me), how would you talk me down? Surely I'm missing some of the finer points?

How much effort is required to maintain that $30/mo?

We have a winner! It doesn't sound like the traffic will keep coming without some work... half an hour a month would be too much. Are there other big things to look out for?
