really need some help!

Does anyone know what a double opt-in email is? I was interested in becoming an affiliate for a company and it says I need to have this.I have no idea what the heck that is! Please help- thanks in advance.

A double opt-in happens when a user subscribes to a newsletter (or some other e-mail marketing messages list) in two steps:

Step 1: fills in the form with his email address and any other data required

Step 2: confirms the subscription by clicking on the confirmation link in a message he receives after completing the first step.
