Hi everyone.
Here's a quote from part of a previos post from Yaro, entitled: Niche Content Sites / AIS, Examples Quote:
I once heard a fella say that in order to keep something you have to give it away! I've since read individual success stories and short articles from professional business folk and they seem to echo the above statement. That doesn't mean to say one shouldn't be shrewd in business, it simply means that those that help others, more often than not get helped back. It's a kind of knock on effect I guess! I firmly believe that business should flow, with ideas being swapped & passed around, tested and passed back ad infinitum. Anyway, for fear of waffling on, I've just created my own AIS Site (Automated Income Stream) which relates to this post. I’ve not given it a domain name or uploaded it yet as there are still a few finishing touches. In my opinion, It took far too long to make for a static site, but I’m hoping to get quicker at building these with experience, tools, and guidance. I don't think the niche is really 'niche enough', and I’m pretty sure those in the know will be able to pick big holes in it, but that's okay as sole purpose for constructing this one from a blank page was to invite constructive criticism and to learn from it. AIS is a brand new challenge for me and I’m at almost zero experience and $0.00 at the time of writing. I'll be posting my progress as time goes by, and informing the visitors and members to this forum of the following: * What tools I’m using, * What blogs are inspiring me. * Number of AIS sites to date * What's working * What’s not working * How much I’m making after investment costs. Plus a whole bunch of other stuff as it materialises. Anyway, to finish on, take a look at my first project, as it's probably the only one you'll get an actual link to http://mrroomfinder.com/AIS-1/Index.htm All feedback appreciated and all silence acknowledged Lol! Cheers Aitch

If you're referring to the Stress Management website that is sitting on Mr. Roomfinder, that was just a test site and I don't think I'll be using it. After doing a bit of research, it's not really 'niche' enough, so I’ll probably just ditch it or save one of the pages and use it as a template for other sites. If you're talking generally, I plan to have numerous sites in the future. Initially I was thinking about having a separate domain for each site, but now I’m looking into whether sub domains will work as well. The advantage of sub domains is that you can have multiple sites operating under the main domain, so 1 purchase, x number of sites, if you see what I mean. I'll let the forum know what I decide Cheers Aitch

Why not just leave it up there, stick some adsense on it and see what happens? You may as well let it sit there and give it a chance to make that 30c a day.
Stick it up as mrroomfinder.com/stress-management/ and see what happens.

I'm really excited about this post. Why don't you explain your process for this first test site so that we can see how you progress from this first try? Things to include would be tools, niche choice reason/evaluation, etc... anything you thing is of value to the learning process.

I think you will definately do better with individual domains rather than subdomains... at least to start with.
If you get to the point where you have a AIS site on just about every single topic, then it might be wise to get a good single domain and link to the sites. Domains are pretty cheap so don't stinge ... I've got over 80 domains atm

Hi everyone. Thanks for your feedback.
Yaro - It has plenty of related AdSense on it now across all the pages, but I’m not going to spend time promoting it. Maybe I’ll leave it there for now though as it's not hurting anything. SevenX - I will be reporting back the success of ‘a’ site but not the Stress Management one as it's not a good niche. It was the first site I’d built on my own from a blank sheet so it was just a kind of test site. It's only a static site so there's nothing fancy about it, but it was still nice to know I could put one together nonetheless. Remember though, a lot of folk in the niche website business use web creation software to automate this procedure. More on that at a later date. nado - I wasn't thinking too much about the financial savings of using sub domains, it was more for organisational and convenience purposes. As I'm still wet behind the ears on this project, I’ll be reading and communicating with others so I can weigh up all the pros and cons along the way in order to make informed decisions at the end of each sage. To finish on, as with any web project, it's important to prepare for loss of time and or money along the way. One thing I’m learning about this is that there are numerous different ways of accomplishing the same tasks. Some good, some not so good, but often it's the little individual tweaks and changes a person implements that could mean the difference between success or failure. All the best. Aitch

As far as I can tell most of the really successful, hard-core, nice site builders use automated software to generate full website templates on the fly.
Sort of takes the beauty out of it doesn't it ![]() Of course quantity over quality sometimes works better.

I've been reading up about this and it does happen like that but it's no longer the way forward, well not completely. It's always been said that content is king and duplicated content takes second place to original well written pieces any day. Now, it seems that duplicated templates are being taken into the equation by the boys and gals at Google HQ, and sometimes these types of sites are delisted (I think that's the term) if they cotton on to them. Especially if all the sites are on the same template, with the same layout, and home duplicated content. Now the AIS crowd are spending time making their sites more 'unique' which will mean the days of fully automatic site generators are behind us. Site generators and portal builders will still be around and are very useful tools for speeding up the process of web building, but there'll be a degree of personal adjustments to spruce things up a bit. I don’t know all that much about it right now but I’ll have more to report in the AIS posts further down the line when I’m building my own sites. Aitch

The big boys at this game are building sites that are no more than a list of links, using automated tools. I know one guy churning out 10,000 sites per day. These sites are then got into the Search Engines within days using Black Hat methods. There are not many people presently building Niche Sites who care about quality. It's all about quantity. There is a very small % who do care about quality - certainly less than 0.1% I'd have thought, in terms of sites built per day... |
