Hi, I'm Shaun of "Super-Fantastic Plastic" (http://
Super-Fantastic Plastic) - a fun little blog about
cosmetic surgery and surgery with cosmetic benefits. I try my best to
inform AND entertain and take a balanced and fair look at cosmetic
surgery - it's not for everyone and it's not without risks. It also
has its benefits, let's don't forget.

One of the largest problems facing the plastic and cosmetic surgery
industry today are surgeon without sufficient skill claiming to be
plastic surgeons - in the U.S. it's completely legal for a doctor with
a medical license to perform any surgery and call themselves plastic
surgeons, whether or not they have every performed a single cosmetic
procedure, or whether they have been trained at all! Another issue are
doctors with the experience and credentials using shifty marketing
tactics to get you into the operating room and not delivering any
positive result... In most states the U.S. and the U.K. (and many
other countries), a doctor doesn't have to guaranty any results at
all!!! People who have chosen their surgeons unwisely may be scared
for life and there is very little that they can do about it. Sure,
they might be able to sue, but will that bring their face back to
normal?

On a lighter note, I'll admit that I love gossip columns, so I've
tried to incorporate some of the styles of my favorite gossip-hounds
(PITNB, Perez Hilton, etc.) So, you can have a laugh and dish about
your favorite celebs and whether or not they've gone under the knife.

But, enough about me! What about you? I'm semi-new to the world of
blogging and want to get more involved. Anybody have some neat blogs
for me to visit? Of course, I'd love to be able to like to other blogs
that deal with cosmetic surgery, celebrity gossip and the like. Just
for fun, I'd love some browsing material myself. I have lots of varied
interest - I love reading and books (fiction and non-fiction), I
really like current information on human genetics, I like to read
about ancient history and I love culture and fashion news.

So, what are your interests? What is your take on cosmetic surgery?
