Greetings! My name is Sheila Viers, and I would like to introduce you to my blog, Live Well 360°. Starting a website focused on healthy living is something that I have been wanting to do for some time but never had the opportunity until now. Like a lot of folks out there, my corporate career path was recently abruptly halted. Most people would be devastated by the loss of a job, and rightly so. But me, well I guess I am strange because I was actually excited by it. I saw this as an opportunity to truly focus on what I am passionate about. I have a degree believe it or not in Interior Design, and a corporate background in marketing and sales, but neither of those topics excite me as much as health and wellness. I feel like I have so much to talk about, so many experiences, great finds, learn from my mistake moments, that I knew I couldn’t let this opportunity pass me by.
So let me properly introduce myself. I am a self proclaimed foodie on a mission to live a life of health and prosperity, who over the past 4 years has finally realized how much the food we eat affects our overall well being. I have run the gamut of metabolism related health problems. I’ve had thyroid problems, hormonal problems, digestion problems - I’ve dealt with them all and realized that 99% of my problems were directly related to things I was doing to or putting into my body. I also love fitness. Don’t get me wrong 40 minutes running on a treadmill with nothing good on TV can bore me to tears like anyone else, but hey it feels pretty darn good when you are finished and those endorphins start flowing. I work hard to take care of my body, not because I want to become a walking skeletal lollipop headed waif, but because I want to set myself up now to have the body I have always wanted, both on the inside and out, for the rest of my life. Like I mentioned, a few years ago a switch flipped in my head. I realized finally that I don’t want to be one of those women who is perpetually fighting the love hate relationship with her body. You know the drill, she has been and forever will be riding through life on the roller coaster of ups and downs, bouncing from one diet program to the next, never satisfied, always hungry or binging. If she reaches her goal at all she basks in the glory for one shining moment/event/day…and then blows it all on a week of Ding Dongs and cheese fries because damn it that was the hardest diet she has ever been on. And the cycle begins again. NO WAY. That is not who I am. Yes, I have been there…even been there a few times. But I have realized that life doesn’t have to be that way. You can get off of this roller coaster, I am living breathing proof! It is possible to FIX the mess that you have made, and then you live, eat, exercise for wellness and for maintenance. Because you know the drill, you have the tools, and it becomes part of who you are. So that is me in a nutshell. My blog is focuses on rediscovering food and fitness in new, healthy ways, and realizing that we need to incorporate wellness, in every aspect of life, if we truly want to live our best life.
