My fiance' and I both work in an insurance sales call center and have reached the point where we would rather work for ourselves than someone else! We just started our blog, Call Center Chaos!, to provide comic relief to call center employees around the world, as well as tips on how they can survive in the call center environment. We've only just begun, but we've found the Blog Mastermind course extremely helpful. Neither of us really even knew much about blogs at all a few weeks ago, and now we have one up and running!

I couldn't help but go take a look at your blog. I tried working in a call center and it lasted all of about 6 weeks and that included 2 weeks of training. It was an inbound Telephone directory service for several cell phone companies. I HATED it. People were rude to me and I could do nothing about it. I wasn't even allowed to hang up on the fool that started suggesting I slept my way into that job!
Just so you know, I was good at the technical stuff, but finding names of local businesses that I'm not familiar with because they are not in my geographics or because you slurred your language, speaking too quickly and impatiently did NOT make my job any easier. I was new to it and I soon learned to hate the job. I had to quit, because if I hadn't, I would have ended up hating people, too. /soapbox. Thanks for letting me rant. Your blog is very neat and well organized. I LIKE that. I think, if anything, I would increase the size of the font somewhat. Make it easy for your readers to get to the meat of your content. And, even as big as your RSS button is, I almost missed it. It's kind of on the light-colored side and being on a white background, it will have a tendency to fade from view. It did for me. If I hadn't been purposefully looking for one (I signed up!), then I would have missed it entirely. Find a darker orange one, if you can. I saw a cool looking one that I considered once, but it was blue. It's hard enough to get people to sign up to RSS (as it's not a very familiar symbol anyway, yet) and changing the color, I thought, would just confuse people. EXCELLENT About page! Thanks for posting a comment as well, with your personal experience and a topic suggestion! I also welcome the RSS subscription! I've signed up for yours as well, 'cause I can use all the advice I can get on writing great articles! Thanks for your thoughts, particularly, on how the site's displayed. I'm still working on the technical details, and I've been concerned about the font size as well. I like to write in Word, and then paste it to Wordpress, but I sometimes get unexpected results...like font shrinkage! I've also been looking at some RSS button alternatives, and would like to find a plugin that will display the request for comments a little more prominently. Do you have any suggestions? I'm glad you appreciate the humor! My goal is to provide stress relief with as much whackiness as I can safely input, while still giving some solid advice along the way. Thanks again for the support!
