Suggestions Re: Driving Teen Traffic

Hello,

I am new to the online business and I am development a web marketplace for Teens. And, yes I know that there are many competitors but I plan to differentiate my site by offering teens a way they can earn MONEY! I also plan to have a social responsibility aspect as well. Not your typical social networking site.

Any suggestions on how to drive those fickle teens to my online business? Does advertising on Myspace and the other popular social networking sites work? What about SEO? Adwords etc...? I hear so many mixed reviews on this one but at the end of the day it is Necessary. I plan to do some offline marketing as well. HELP.

ps..Does anyone know how myspace, facebook, myyearbook and or youtube gain popularity so quickly? What methods did they employ to drive traffic? I am sure the master minds behind the above sites was told it wouldn't work.
