Having come to the conclusion that building a blog readership by utilising blog traffic exchanges is, shall we say, somewhat ineffective. I have decided to see if article marketing garners any greater success. I plan on testing this for a month and see if there is any obvious effect on my overall traffic trend.

I have never really tried article marketing specifically and was wondering if anyone had any tips etc. on the best way of proceeding. I am looking to try and produce some sort of case study from this so I would be interested in any strategies that people would like to see tested.

Yaro did a review of ezinearticles.com back in March: Is Article Marketing Worth your Time?

Thanks Blaine, some how I missed that article.

I had a quick look at Yaro's ezine article profile, his article views are up to around 6800. Given that back in march (when the blog post was published) this was at 5000 it looks like this has increased over the last few months. It would be interesting to see how the backlinks from the articles have faired as well.

At the moment I am still undecided as to whether to blast a whole bunch of articles out at once or to publish them steadily over a longer period of time.

What I've found works best is How To articles. Some of my How To's were picked up and posted on other web sites, giving me good back linkage, while some of my non How To's only got read. Also I would say post a few articles to ezine put keep the majority for yourself, as duplicate content is not as valuable as original content.
