Hi everyone I am just starting out. I have been following the audio to get started (thanks for this) however I can't seem to upload or work out how to upload the new 2.5 to my blog of how to even load a new theme. I really need some help with this please. The blogs I am working on are The Kids Blog and The Scrapbooking Blog . I will admit I lack knowledge in this are but are happy to learn. Have read heaps of stuff to try to work it out myself but alas I am not able to work out where to find the file that needs to be deleted before uploading. Can someone please help. Thanks so much and have a great day.

Hi Julia...
I seem to be a bit more advanced with my blogging than you, however I to am finding the going a bit hard. They say to upload Wordpress 2.5 buit I have tried so many times and cant seem to do it.Also when placing widgets on my blog,as soon as I place a widget the rest of the sidebar dissappears. I have my own hosting with this blog but another blog I haven't,doesn't seem to make a difference. I will take any help I can get on this matter Regards Ken Adelaide Australia |

Hi I am asking again because I still have not been able to find in all my searching a very simple answer I am sure to others but not for me.
If I want to upload wordpress 2.5 and I am hosted with hostgator where on earth do I find this file please wp-config.php I have looked all through my files and I will be stuffed at knowing where it is. I have googled search for help and still can't find it. Can someone please help me by telling me where I can find this file so then I can work out how to upload. I am brand new at this and really want to get a blog up and running but this is driving me nuts. Thanks so much my email is mitchell005@bigpond.com and all help would be so appreciated. Julia |

wp-config is in the root folder of your wordpress installation.

If you downloaded the WP zip, the file is called wp-config-sample.php . You are supposed to rename it to wp-config.php
Everything is perfectly explained on the WP.org --> here If you are hosted with HostGator, you can install WP using Fantastico in your cPanel (but WP 2.5 is not yet available in Fantastico I think).

Thanks for your help alas it still eludes me where to find it. Would any one be so kind enough to help me out if I passed on the login details etc. I'm sure it is simple just I can't seem to find that last step. I would really really appreciate someone's help if you can or if someone can direct me to somewho who could assist that would be excellent.
Thanks again and have a great week. Julia |

You can find some great video on how to install wordpress here:
If you can afford to put a reasonable fee in a techie, I would recommend Joel from the TechBlogGuy. He can do the job and teach you how to use your blog. But I don't understand why you can't find the config file. It should be, as Blaine and me told you, at the root of your unzipped folder and is called wp-config-sample.php, you need to rename it, before uploading the files on your HostGator account. What are you trying to do exactly?
