Hello there!

I recently started my first "real" blog that I am very much enjoying.

I am using Wordpress for my blog.

I am having trouble trying to figure out what program/software is best to build a subscriber list.
I would like to start giving away some things to visitors, but I am so new to the internet that I don't know where to begin with a subscriber program.

I was looking at aweber.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks a bunch!

Cheers!

100% behind AWeber here.

You can read my review - AWeber Email Autoresponder Review

Maybe start with a newsletter or write a free report which you give away when people subscribe to your email list.

What topic area are you focusing on?

I haven't used Aweber myself, but I hear nothing but good things about it. They also claim a 97%+ delivery rate, which is a quite a hefty claim - but apparently they can keep it up.

Hi!
Thanks so much for the response.

I am focusing on being a Mom.!

It's a great topic with tons of ideas, tricks, tips etc. Being a parent is by far the most difficult and rewarding job in the world!

Thanks again! I will sign up with aweber.

Default Does Aweber Do This?

When you sign up with Aweber to get/manage blog/newsletter subscriptions and you've offered a free report for signing up, do you upload the pdf file to Aweber and then they send it for you? Or is there some other trick of the hat involved here?

I'm a little confused about that. I checked out their website but couldn't really find the information I was looking for and I have read Yaro's entry as well.

Thanks,

Jeff

I use Aweber to send a message (an automatic followup, not a broadcast) as soon as they sign up that includes a link to the page where they can download the PDF. The page it points at is just a page on my site, so they click, they see a nicely formatted page, it includes a link to the PDF and a link to Adobe, and they can then download it from my site. The page on my site isn't linked to from anywhere else, so the only way to find it is if they get the autoresponse message. If somebody does somehow find it, it also includes a spot where they can sign up for my newsletter.
