Sex sells - Use photos in your blog

Happy New Year Yaro,
Your last newsletter in 2006 'Use photos in your blog' got me going with my new year's resolution. I loved that marketing idea 'sex sells' - it's so true. I was convinced you had that newsletter content posted somewhere (why not?). It was really having great ideas for newcomers like me and very inspiring for the new looks of my blog.

Sorry didn't have a photo of myself with 'the donald' or 'dalai lama' but will definitely add a photo in my profile. However, I immediately picked up on the 'sex sells' idea and started adding Hawaiian girls to my Hawaii blog. Already got nice feedback about it. Thanks for this great idea promoting the traffic to my blog.


I expect people (hope not just guys!!!) are now more inclined to visit my hawaii blog more frequently. So that's my big new year's resolution: increase the blog traffic considerably and then pick-up on your blog marketing ideas how to make money with my blog. Not going for the big $$$$$$$$$ but it's a start.

Will also dedicate some major time to my template layout. Just switched to new blogger version which provides quite some upgrades. Hesitant switching to wordpress as a non-techno person.

hi again yaro,
easier said than done as a techno dummie like myself! when you told me a little while ago, i looked into it but did not think i can do it the switch from blogger to wordpress just on my own.

as we are talking traffic and SEO stuff here, can you fill me in again:

what are the biggest advantages of wordpress over blogger?
what are blogger's biggest limitations?

if it's really making that big a difference, maybe i pay somebody for doing the switch for me...don't want to be running behind the competition, do i?

The biggest advantage of WordPress over blogger is that you own it, not Google. You decide how to monetize it. It has your domain name. You provide the server (or pay for it).
In other words, you do not have to worry about someone switching you off and you have a property you can actually sell once built. A real business.

A blogger friend of mine just had his entire blog deleted on blogger. I guess his ex figured out his password. That is not something that could be done easily with a typical WordPress blog and in most cases there would be at least some type of backup. His blogger account is apparently gone and replaced by someone else. If he starts again, it will be from scratch and he had at least a PR4.

Doing the switch can be easy. Many hosting companies have an automated WordPress install (it really is not hard to do yourself though, they have great instructions). WordPress has an import feature which should copy all your content. You just need to decide on a good theme and what plugins you may want.
