Do I HAVE to pay to submit my url to Yahoo Search?

Google of course is free.

Yahoo has something called "Basic Search" where it looks like they will charge you for submitting up to 5 urls.

Will my site get indexed regardless of whether I pay or not?

I never submitted my site to Yahoo.

The paid directory is something different and has nothing to do with Yahoo Search - it's just a directory listing. Being in there can be good as you'll get an authority link to your site, so if you have the money go ahead. If not, then just ignore it.

I have never to submit to Yahoo too .
If you have money, you pay for web submissions since you'll then get backlink from them, and paid web submission in normally last longer than free one.
And if you want to try to submit for free, there so many free web submissions on net.
And still you get backlink from them but it normally takes time before your submission get approved.

I believe the yahoo directory cost 299 bucks. I've had multiple sites and never had it listed in the directory - and things still went good for me.
