Get Involved in the Ej Community!

Hi to all the regular members, the contributors, and the lurkers.

This is a quick post aimed mainly at the forum lurkers, and a request for you to get involved in the Ej (Entrepreneurs Journey) Community, even if it’s just a quick hello.

We firmly believe that we have a great opportunity here to build up a fantastic virtual neighbourhood for like minded online and offline entrepreneurs at any level, at any age, whatever sex, and for any type of business.

But there is a condition!

In order for us to thrive, we need you, you need us, and we all need each other.

It doesn’t matter how small or how big your business or ambition is, and it doesn’t even matter whether you have started something or not. What matters is that you have a genuine desire to learn and to get involved.

All contributions are not only welcome but needed. This is what keeps any online community buzzing and running efficiently.

We’re a friendly bunch in here and happy to help in any way we can should we have the answers or suggestions for your questions and or inquiries.

So, c’mon, folks, get involved and become a-part-of instead of apart-from, and join us as we all jump aboard that entrepreneurial journey of 2006.

Not a member? Don’t worry! It’s free to join the Ej forum and only takes a minute.

Hope to see you inside soon.

All the best

The team at Ej Forum

Welcome to the forum Alex.

Your site looks very nice. Good idea, simple layout etc. Let's get those kids healthy! In fact, I believe the UK is the most obese nation in Western Europe now, kids included.

I was just wondering what the benefits were for the compulsory membership on your site as I was asked to log on when attempting to view any recipes?

Visitors usually need to know why they are being asked to join a site to view its content, so it might be an idea to say something along the lines of ‘To view out extensive collections of healthy recipes for kids, you must log on. Not a member? Don’t worry, it’s free to join and only takes a minute’…†¦â€¦â€¦â€¦à ƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã‚¦Or something similar but I’m sure you get the idea.

You could also have a check box option in the membership submit form, that allows the user to be included in your free newsletter.

My site is free to view and use for the most part but it's a members only site for those that want to interact i.e. submit apartments, post in the free ads, save searches to their wish lists etc.

It's just a minor point, but I know personally that my visitors numbers would plummet if folk had to login just to browse the content.

Finally, if you’re serious about building emails lists, it might be a good idea to have your Newsletter Registration options above the fold (top of the page). You could also repeat it on some other selected pages too so that folks defiantly see it.

Good luck with it Alex and we hope to see you participating in the forums now that you've hatched out of the lurker shell Lol!

Cheers

Aitch

Lurkers of the site unite....

I am a recent online activist (not in the hairy legged treehugging sense) but in the sense that only recently, as in the past couple of months, I have been involved in the launch of a brand new product online - it's a global innovation report and I have also created my own very first blog.

The report is doing well and I must admit I'm not altogether sure what the purpose of the blog is, I understand that I should probably have one stream but it has become a series of ramblings about whatever I'm finding interesting in my travels and my work in innovation.

Nevertheless, there you have it :: a lurker with both an online business & a blog
http://www.thebottomlinereport.net/ (global innovation report)
http://adventuretemporary.blogspot.com/ (my blog rambles)

Would love any feedback you guys have,

Cheers,
Jen

OK Aitch, I'll stop being a lurker.

At the moment I don't have any online businesses so it's unlikely I'll have many comments to make.

But speaking of lurkers, think of the forum as a football match. You've got these few players in the middle (the ones that post the comments) and then there's all the spectators (lurkers) sitting around watching the game. You probably can't hear them cheering but if it's a good forum, I bet a lot of them are. And if they like your post and you've got a link to your web site or blog, maybe they'll check it out. I know I do. I've found more interesting sites through forums than surfing through Dogpile searches.

As you can see I tend to go for the underdog. Others say Google, I say Dogpile. GO THE LURKERS!

(And I enjoyed being a lurker too. Now you shamed me out of it. :-(

Cheers
Richard

My name is Damon. I'm a full time math teacher and part time blogger. . .

I'm interested in learning more about blogs and the promotion of blogs (and other online enterprises). I'm hoping to participate in the Blog Traffic School, etc.

I guess I really want to become a full time blogger and part time math teacher. . .

(And this is the first forum I've ever joined before lurking. I hope I don't embarrass myself.)

Damon

Welcome Damon - thanks for joining. You might want to do a new post introducing yourself since this is really a welcome message post so not so many people will see what you wrote.
