Hi Guys,
My name's Gary and I'm presently based in the UK. I don't have a "real job", since 2000 I've been making my money from online adventures. History Before 2000, I worked for very large corporations in sales and customer service. Before this I worked in the Graphic Design field. In 2000, I taught myself webdesign from a book, and for a year or two I created many small websites for local (and national) business. Using the contacts gained in my corporate life and my sales skills. This became a bit of a chore though so I moved into specialising in osCommerce (shopping cart software), and became quite well known in that community. 30 Days to Success About 2 years ago I read the eBook "30 days to success" collated by Joe Kumar - reading some of those stories inspired me to write my first digital product which was an eBook specialising in Search Engine Optimization (for osCommerce). Within 1 month the book had sold around £2000 ($4000) and led to a number of upsells. I then realised the power of digital products!!! From then onwards I pretty much scaled down everything to concentrate on creating and selling digital products... Digital Products Since then I've written more eBooks for osCommerce, all of which have sold very well - you can see the site at http://www.oscbooks.com - I no longer own this site as I recently sold it for a very fair price ![]() I also made website templates (again for osCommerce), which still sell well to this day - that site is at http://www.oscommerce-templates.co.uk - I still own this one, but revenue from that has dropped quite substantially in the last 6 months due to two factors: 1. I left the osCommerce Community to pursue other ideas. 2. Template Monster started selling osCommerce Templates. I also have a couple of other sites selling my own created website templates (these particular sites deal with sales of templates for a very niche market), as well as that I still sell the odd eBook here and there. 24 Hour Sales Machines! I also run about 15 to 20 sites which earn me an affiliate income. I call these my "AIS" sites (Automated Income Streams) - you might have heard some people call these "Silent Sales Machines" or similar. These AIS sites are "fire and forget", I build them, then promote them, then forget them. These continue to raise an income via the likes of Adsense, Chitika, Clickbank, Paydotcom etc etc. My next aim is to keep on creating these sites until I have a few hundred in my portfolio. Blogging I also run a Blog, where I try to help people out as well as offer what advice I can on aspects of earning a crust without a "real job"...on my blog I sometimes recommend products that I have tried, tested and found useful. If I don't like a product, I will not recommend it! So, although I do not blog for a living, my blog does allow me to have an outlet for my thoughts. The best thing about not having a "real job" is that I have no boss ![]() Anyway, with all that said, if anyone has any specific questions about what I do, feel free to ask! Cheers, Gary ps, Yaro already mentioned my Blog; http://osworld.blogspot.com |
