Matt from Plusone -> Marketing, Media, Communications reporting as instructed!

About me - best described as an internet entrepeneur junkie...here's my sites:

PlusOne Marketing - my core site, deals with my consulting work in marketing, media and communications. Have a strong focus on SMS marketing - do some work for some brand-name clients, plus others. Opportunity to subscribe to my newsletter is there - but my blog is starting to take over from that...I also offer free website appraisals from that site as well.

So to my My Blog - worth a read, I post tips advice, some commentary etc.

Want to advertise your site offline? I have Aussie Promoplates which is a great product - plus soon to expand what can be done beyond the two set formats available. Every website owner should have one of these on their car.

Ringtones seemed like a good idea, so I started PolyphonicOnline a year or so back. Was going gangbusters for a while, but increased competition has bitten into earnings...needs more attention.

Three years ago when my Government job contract looked like expiring with no renewal, I started up AccommodationPlus - a hotel booking site mainly for Australian hotels at discount prices. This took some work, and still does, but rewards me OK. Increased competition from Zuji etc impacted for a while, but have ridden out that one.

But wait, there's more...

Want to shop online? I have had this little shopping portal running properly for 2.5 years - paid it proper attention when I became 'self-employed' ex Govt. Shows you can make money from affiliate programs and a good testing ground for seeing which merchants perform (for prospective greater involvement). It's a place that has shwn me that a poorly performing merchant site that implements an affiliate program is still a poorly performing site - and how some seemingly 'big' sites (having seemingly spent lots of $ on getting things set up) just fail to recognise that a website needs to be more than just a database interface.

So I fall into that as well with my PlusOne Software site. Some good titles there - this is rebirth number four - and I'll be getting into it a bit more as time allows (between midnight and 1am I think!)

Hmmm, oh yes, the new baby in the family - Caricature King. Started only this week, using Adwords to promote at present - but showing good promise - if you want one get in quick while the intro price is there I'll be putting it up to a profitable level soon - just wanting to create some initial activity to get the personal reference aspect happening.

There is more - another internationally focussed travel site that struggles, and I'm building an international version of Shop Online Australia called Jumbo Shops, but it is still very much is 'builder's bloodly mess' stage.

Whew! My main aim each day - try to get to bed before midnight....

Awesome Matt, great to see a listing of all your projects.

I think you beat me in the number of simultaneous Internet businesses you have running.

It would be great to read a bit about which ones make you the most money, why and how you got them to where they are today. Maybe a blog topic?

I really like the Caricature idea too, great niche and a good idea to take a traditional market/fair type attraction and put it online.

So if you suddently got 1000 orders could your artist handle the workload?

The artist has indicated he can handle that workload - I was going to puit one here as an avatar, but the system won't let me....

In terms of income - other than the main business, it is affiliate shopping mall, travel site, software, promoplates then ringtones. The ringtones was a leader 8 months sgo - but how sonn things change.

I think the caricatures will end up doing well...

WOW - someone got addicted to the craze of building really cool, successful and surprisingly-complicated businesses online! Amazing stuff - I'd be happy with ONE of those businesses............. at first!

Hi Matt,

Phew! There's certainly a lot going on there. As I’m reading through these introductions, I’m beginning to think that I've got all my eggs in one basket!

One website with multiple streams of income was my general idea, but it seems like a number of folk here have a few projects on the go, with multiple streams of income going on with each one in many cases.

I'm not sure if I’m able to juggle more than a couple of ventures at any one time, but I guess that depends on what they are and how much time they take up.

Looking forward to seeing a write up on ‘time management’ from some of you guys at some point in the future.

Cheers.

Aitch
