I run a social networking business called BlackPeopleOne. The site is doing well as I have 950 members so far. It is hard competing with larger social networks, so that is why I started a specific niche. Next week I will be adding Open Social that will allow my members to use applications that are provided by different programmers. There is a lot to do on the website, but I do not make any cash. The reason is that no one ever clicks on the ads or purchases any products. Any knowledge of the subject would be appreciated. If you are trying to get clicks for your ads then I have some bad news for you.

The only ad that I saw was at the very bottom of the page. A nice banner ad, but it had absolutely nothing to do with your sites message.

You had a free open space on the right side, you could have some ads there that matched your site's message. Put some of those ads above the fold.
